Everyone who knows me knows that I’m obsessed with shoes. At the ripe old age of 20 I own so many shoes that I lost count at 70. My shoe preference changes with the seasons. In fall and winter it’s all about boots and mostly black shoes. So here is your style guide to the five pairs of shoes you need in the winter.
Number One: Basic Booties
The key to the perfect bootie is finding one that will go with lots of different outfits and will be comfortable. As a college student I spend a lot of time running around so I need shoes that are going to be comfortable for all day. In my mind a bootie is not complete without even a small heel, but never a kitten heel!
Here are a couple like mine at a low cost and higher cost:
I feel like there is something so classy about riding boots. Maybe it’s because they are derived from the english style used when actually ridding horses. These boots in black seem to be a staple in most winter wardrobes. They are often worn in a more casual setting, in the winter you will most likely see celebrities wearing them in their street style.
My go to everyday shoe is a good sneaker. I probably wear some form of sneaker at least 5 days a week. My favorite is a good ole pair of black low top chuck taylor’s. But some others that I’m a fan of are keds and Clarks makes a pretty cute pair of sneakers that maybe the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, so if you have a job where you are on your feet a lot or are always on the go you might want to check out their website. As a student my go to wardrobe is converse and leggings, but you can dress them up a bit too. I wore mine with a pencil skirt and a denim jacket to PopFest.
While plain black may not seem fierce, they are great for everyday wear, and if you need comfy shoes on a day you are wearing those great heels, but your feet just cant take it anymore. I like to wear ballet flats the most. I wear mine with tights and a skirt or with jeans and a blouse. They may be the mot versatile shoe to ever exist. They are perfect for traveling and for nights out. I have only heard good things about the brand Tieks, I’m looking forward to getting my first pair soon. Ties are great because they are designed to fold in half and come with a small bag so you can take them on the go with you.
No matter the season you all ways need one pair of nice shoes, you never know when an event or party will pop up. I like to go with a black stiletto, but I don’t want a boring shoe. I love a shoe with fun strapping and a closed tow in the winter. I am a big fan of the pointed toe right now. As a reminder, kitten heels are never allowed.
I hope that this style guide helped you figure out some fancy footwear for the fall and winter months. If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them in the comments down below! I’ll leave you with some of my favorite shoes from my collection! XX!
